Welcome, EBC Cares, Inc., EBC VITA tax clients. EBC VITA site tax preparation services will begin on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024.

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today announced Monday, Jan. 29, 2024, as the official start date of the nation's 2024 tax season when the agency will begin accepting and processing 2023 tax returns. (Source: www.irs.gov)
Tax Filing Deadline: Monday, April 15, 2024, most taxpayers
Two options are available for the tax season, both require appointments:
1. In-Person Tax Service: Taxpayer will bring tax documents to tax site, complete Form 13614-C intake forms, taxes are prepared on-site with client present to review, sign, and e-file the tax return.
2. 100% Virtual Tax Service: All tax preparation services are completed electronically. Tax client uploads Form 14446, Form 13614-C intake forms, ID, social security and/or ITIN information, and tax documents. Volunteers prepare and review the return with taxpayer(s). Taxpayer e-signs return during quality review to e-file. The tax client retains and prints their own tax return copy.

2024 Tax Season – EBC VITA Site Operation Calendar Dates
IR-2023-05, January 12, 2023, WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today announced that the nation's tax season will start on Monday, January 23, 2023, when the tax agency will begin accepting and processing 2022 tax year returns. (Source: www.irs.gov)
2023 Tax Filing Season Helpful Information for Taxpayers
The filing deadline to submit 2022 tax returns or an extension to file and pay tax owed is Tuesday, April 18, 2023, for most taxpayers.
Taxpayers requesting an extension will have until Monday, October 16, 2023, to file.

How to Claim a Missing Payment_ 2020 or 2021 Federal Tax Return
You may be eligible to claim a Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 or 2021 federal tax return if you didn't get an Economic Impact Payment or got less than the full amount.
It is important to understand that the Economic Impact Payments applied to different tax years. Depending on whether you missed the first, second or third payment, you will need to file either a 2020 or 2021 tax return to claim a Recovery Rebate Credit.
